On Tuesday, July 14th, RiverReach Construction in Barberton, Ohio, shared a now-viral video of operating supervisor Chase Guello freeing a small kitten from inside a Komatsu excavator on a job site in nearby Leavittsburg. Guello’s mother’s friend, who works at One of a Kind Pet Rescue, a nonprofit pet rescue and adoption center in Akron, fostered the kitten for a few weeks until she was given to the company’s shop mechanic. “The kitten will go back and forth from work to his house with them every day until she’s old enough to be a shop cat,” Guello said. After a week, it was revealed the winning name of “Komatsu,” the brand of the equipment the kitten got stuck in. “Komatsu” was later shortened to “Sue.”
